Check Ebay...Looks like the buyer's market for those purses have dried out almost..They sell for very little, when they do sell

That's the same as my local. You buy the last and get to take the box.

He wouldn't like me take that option when I picked up the last 4 sharks out of the box.

My local sells empty boxes for 3 bucks each and then donates the money to the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation.

The cost of the box is built into the retail price of the cigars. Once all the gars are gone, the box has in effect been paid for. That shop owner told you a fib.

My cigar guys does the same as Deriffe's. He only takes cash for the boxes and then donates that to local charity. He usually charges $3 bucks a box or 5 for $10.

Fvfanmc, how is the customer service at that shop? I'm curious to find out if he is just an a$$hole in general or just clueless about what a cigar box is worth.

One of my locals charges at least $5 for boxes (can't remember how much, because I left just shaking my head)...

Try places that sell cigars like grocery and liqur stores. They usually give them away.

Not necessarily. Many manufacturers now put a separate box charge on the invoice, often in the $10 to $15 range. If the shop didn't add that to the cigar price, then they will want to recoup that by charging more for the boxes. I don't the situation on the shop in question, but I've seen stranger things before.
