Starting tomorrow, Friday the 15th, The Dirty Dog will begin easing back into normal operations. At first, there will be some changes until we see how things go and or there are clearer guidelines. The goal here is for all of us to stay safe while still providing service in a safe social setting. It is going to take a short run to see how things work. So, here is what we have in mind:
(1) Please wear a mask. Like in a restaurant, you may remove that if you choose to stay for a while to smoke and socialize. (That appears to be what the state is asking)
(2) We will be spacing seating broader than usual. Group size suggestions will be followed.
(3) Bring your own cutting and lighting accessories if possible
(4) There are temporary changes to the hours of operations:
Closed Monday;
Tues, Wed, Thursday 11am-7pm;
Fri & Sat 11am-9pm;
Sunday-Noon to 5pm.

Another one in greater New Orleans: La Habana Hemingway reopens

Dear loyal patrons,

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that we are announcing the re-opening of all locations of La Habana Hemingway today!

To ensure customer safety, we have implemented a number of new preventative measures that will keep both customers and employees safe. This includes hand sanitizer throughout both locations, practicing social distancing measures of 6ft or more, and employees wearing proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times. These measures will be in place for our Metairie and both French Quarter locations. During Phase 1 of the Governor’s orders, we will limit our in-house customer capacity to 25% but will continue with 100% of the great customer service you have come to expect.

We have some exciting new additions to our Metairie location such as a new food and wine menu, as well as an interior renovation! With these new measures in place, we do ask that you make a reservation in advance as seating will be limited. Please call 504-522-5007 for more information. We will also have N95 masks and hand sanitizer for sale at all locations, but supplies are limited.

Just down the road, Twins Smoke Shop has set up a tent of their own. Owner Kurt Kendall has been doing curbside pickups, but is looking forward to having his customers back, sitting and talking and smoking cigars.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the people,” Kendall said. “Our employees are looking forward to seeing our customers. We’re anxious.”

On Monday, Governor Charlie Baker is expected to release plans to reopen businesses in Massachusetts.

OK guys. Here’s the problem. We have to change everything I previously posted. After checking with the guidelines we cannot allow people into the shop. However, we can still do curbside pick up. Feel free to call and place an order. We will try to take care of you with our usual charm and dashing good looks.
HOURS:
We will still be closed on Monday. Tuesday through Fridays we will be open 11 to 7 for curbside pick up.

CONWAY — Partly in response to COVID-19 regulations governing indoor and outdoor use, North Conway’s Cigar Shenanigans has expanded by doubling the size of its outdoor patio, offering a place to unwind while savoring a beverage and a cigar from its extensive collection.

I just received an e-mail from Cigar Rights of America which lists all their affiliated tobacconist shops that are open. This is a nice list, a bit short for MY state, as I know there are other shops open; but many of these offer CRA Member discounts, too.

While there are several in NY, none of them are in the Central NY region.
