Empty Stands!
Looks like they're going to play the NCAA Basketball Tournament with empty stands.

This is crazy. The games will be soooooo boring. Maybe they'll use a cheer track in the same way that sitcoms use a laugh track.

And even so, the authorities won't close the schools here.

Our local university is looking to close if WV starts to see patients in the state. So far none have been identified.

The 3 Iowa state schools (and several private - Drake and Grinnell the most notable) are all going 100% virtual for two weeks following sprin break which is next week. No Face-to-Face classes, and need to apply to keep your access to the dorms/buildings/dining halls. They will "re-asess" the week of 3/30 to see fit they extend that policy.
Meanwhile our boys state basketball tourney is still going on here in Des Moines with 60k spectators and players attending over the next 3 days....go figure. Its all (IMHO) a bit overboard - Iowa has NO community spread cases being tracked, the 12 we do have 11 are all from one group of people that took a cruise to Egypt. Its all panic driven decisions - the worst kind you can make. I am going to Phoenix next week and have tickets to four Cubs Spring Training games, if they cancel those I am going to be PISSED!!!!!

The Jazz were in town last night to play the Thunder but after Rudy Gobert ( who had already tested positive and was not on the roster to play) and Donavon Mitchell both tested positive the game was called just prior to tip-off. To make matters worse Mitchell had done warmups and a shoot around at Del City High School yesterday afternoon.
Also an OKC hotel that had a guest who tested positive shut it down and are in the process of trying to disinfect the entire building. It just goes to show how easily this thing can possibly be spread when people are walking around infected with absolutely no signs or symptoms.

The Big 12, Big 10, and SEC have cancelled their basketball tournaments.

What are we going to do with ourselves? No sports, no music...what are we going to do with all this free time?
