New to pipes

Hello all,

I have decided to do a little pipe smokin' along with my cigar smokin' (not at the same time ). What type of tobacco should I try, to start out with, and can I keep pipe tobacco in my humidor with my cigars??

Someone once told me that I can keep pipe tobacco in the fridge, is this true??

Also, since I am just starting out, can you guys recommend an on-line site that I can purchase a sampler of pipe tobacco?? Or if anyone here is interested in putting together a sampler please PM me with details. I can do an outright buy or trade for a few cigars.

I have one last question, what should I pay for a pipe and what are good brands??? I am a gradute student so I obviously don't have much money, but I don't want a piece of crap that may ruin my smoking experience.
