Well, this is a pretty epic sippin' tequila. 23 months in the wood of Old Rip Van Winkle Bourbon barrels. From the description:
Quote:
In 2010, Corazon acquired the best barrels from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection‚ including 21 barrels from each category of George T. Stagg, Sazerac Rye 18, Old Rip Van Winkle and Buffalo Trace. Using these award-winning barrels from Buffalo Trace provided its own flavor and unique characteristics to the Tequila. They were then stored in the first row at Casa San Matias aging facility in Acatic, Los Altos Jalisco, insuring the ideal level of air flow to aid in the aging process.

Yeah, I think they nailed it. I respect a smooth tequila, and this one is that but with the added edge and smokiness that the Pappy barrels bring it's just that much more interesting. I'm a BuffTrace fan, and this is a nice way to bring that edge to an adjacent space.
Around $70 per bottle when you can find it. I grabbed a few of these and a few of the Handy version to put away for a rainy day wedding reception.
