Humidity Question

Im new to cigars and new here as well, so I have a question for the experienced. The humidity in my humidor runs a little high..like 74%. I've been adding water to the humidifier when the humidity drops to 68%. Am I adding it too early??? Should I wait until it gets to 65%??? I've salt tested my digital hygrometer and it was right on at 75%. I've been dry boxing my cigars for a day before smoking and it works out fine, but would like my humidor to be closer to 70%. Also, I like Cameroon-Wrapped cigars, especially the Montecristo Afrique line. Can you guys recommend something similar I might like??? Thanks.
