Humidor humidity-temp control question/problem

I'm somewhat new to the cigar world and since my collection is getting bigger a friend built me a bigger humidor. Its been a couple of months i have the humidity perfectly at 70 degrees but the temprature fluctuates in the 70 to 75 area and as i add sticks it gets warmer. I have an oasis 2 in it the humidor is 6ft tall 3 ft wide 20 in deep. I've heard stories about bugs and want to keep it under the 80 degree mark so nothing starts to hatch i dont wanna loose my collection. How can i control temprature without messing with the humidity to much? I keep the humidor in my living and the temp in the winter is usually between 68 and 71 degrees. Any help would be much appreciated.

One way I can your humi being above room temp would be if you have it situated over or in front of a furnace outlet register. Or, is it next to a window where sunlight can hit it and warm it up? Near any other heat sources? TV? Lamp? Are you putting in boxes that are markedly warmer than the humi? How accurate are your temp measurements?

Hope you work it out to your satisfaction!

Your humidor temp is going to be somewhere around your room temp (yeah, I know I'm a genius ). I set my thermostat at 75 degrees in the summer....if you can keep it around there then you ought to be OK. If you're around 80 then the beetle eggs have a better chance of hatching.

Exactly. If the room your humidor is in is 80, that's what the humidor is going to be. And I hate to break it to you, but beetles can hatch at temps lower than 70. You should try to keep the temp less than 75. Over 75 and you are just inviting trouble.

humidor temp

Is there any kind of device that i can get that will regulate temprature? I was thinking of putting a fan in there but thought it would just blow the warm air around?

Yes, it's called an air conditioner. Just stick one in the window of the room you keep your humi in, or get central a/c for the house.
