AF Hemingway Signature

I haven't had much luck with Fuente products, so I haven't smoked many. Most commonly, I have problems with the burn and/or the wrapper unravelling. I've smoked one Opus X and one Ashton VSG and I loved them both, but that's about it. I've smoked one Sig before this which I wrote in my notes was good but not great, and had the usual burn problems. So I wasn't sure what to expect when I fired up this one, part of a sampler from Husker.

It was a delight! The cap clipped clean and there was a slight sweet taste before lighting. The early taste of smoke was also sweet, mixed with wood, leather and caramel. The burn was perfect all the way down. The flavor got denser about half way down. The fermentation of the tobacco swirled around with a full tangy flavor in my mouth. Only when I was nubbing the butt did it get at all bitter.

I don't know how long Husker had this gar but I'm convinced the difference in smoking experience is due to aging and proper storage. As a relative newbie I have been slow to really accept the value of aging. But if this cigar was any indication, I'm going to go out and buy two more coolers to put more of my favorites away for some development.
