Q: best "smoke eater" for my home office?
I built an office when I finished my basement last year and I planned on turning it into a cigar room / office but I cannot find a good smoke eater system.
My wife has a freakish sense of smell so I need something that will move a good amount of air, get the smoke out of the house and filter what's left. However, I don't have a clue where to look. I don't want to spend a fortune but I don't want to buy something that's going to wear out in 6 months either..... Anyone have any good advice? |

I don't know how much you want to spend, but you might want to check out www.aircleanerwholesale.com - that's where I got the cleaner for my shop. They have ducted and ductless systems and their prices are very good for the quality of the equipment they have.

I have this one in my basement.
http://www.cleanairtechnologyllc.com/ca250_plus.htm It handles the 900 square feet with no problems. It retails for about $600 and is easy to move around. It has a 10 year warranty on the unit and a 6 year warranty on the filter, that in itself will pay for itself in under 5 years versus my old unit that I had to replace the filter every year at $80 each time. |

You don't replace filters? Are they easy to clean? Do you have to replace the charcoal thing? The site doesn't give much information and doesn't say how to buy one. |

I just placed an order. I've been looking for something like this for years. I've always thought filters were disgusting and pretty much useless after a short period of time. |
