Finally got around to smoking some of the china black that came w/ those free samples.

Tobacco quality aside it was perhaps one of the most satisfying bowls I've had to date. made it nearly 2/3 the way through without a relight, no tongue bite, overall a great experience.

The source of all my problems thus far I'm pretty sure has been wet tobacco. I let that sample dry for a full two days before smoking and it completely changed the way the pipe burned. Previously i'd been letting my samples from Gatlinburlier dry for an hour or two before smoking, which made a bit of difference, but apparently still wasn't quite cutting the mustard.

Man, this hobby just got a lot more enjoyable
