RIP Marshall Tucker

Jan 20. 99 years young. He was a blind piano tuner in South Carolina. The band didn’t know he was a real person when they named the band; they saw his name on a key and thought it sounded cool.

RIP Mr. Tucker. Your namesake band is not only great, it's also the only other band besides Jethro Tull to prominently include a flute as a regular part of its instrumentation.

Great story.

That's cool. Growing up in NC near the South Carolina line we would hit Spartanburg on the weekends. Marshall Tucker was playing in the local haunts in those days. Loved those guys they had such a distinct sound. I remember when Toy's brother, Tommy died after a car accident; the band was never the same after that.

Wow, I never knew any of that. Very cool.
