Chocolate Bock is one of Sam Adams "extreme beers," brews that go way beyond a cold pint at the ball game. While Sam Adams sells many of its brews at most area grocery stores, it's very best products are usually not available here, due North Carolina's archaic six-percent law (don't get me started on that dumb rule that keeps beer to just six percent while allowing much stronger rotgut wine and liquor).

I tried one last night while watching the Falcons kick the crap out of St Louis.

Actually, it's very good. A lot like Guiness in it's flavor profile, but smoother and not as heavy. Dark beer drinkers will like it a lot. I can't wait to try it on tap instead of bottled.

It won't switch me away from my Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout, though.
