whoa they sell aged beans(green and to be called aged they have to be at least 5 years of age. so they do last longer but they have to be stored properly,
aged coffe is usually stored in the country of origin in silios or burlap, so that the beans can breathe. my guess is that the nbeans you have were probably stored improperly and that is why they have become dull, i have some that i stored that are at least 1+ year old(cuban) and they still are as tasty as the day i got them. but i have them stored in burlap in my walk-in.
