Why is my Honeywell Wireless Humidity/Temp so far off? - SAL
Hey guys, I have a wireless Honeywell unit which reads humidity and temp from my humidor. I also have a Heart Felt industries digital hygrometer inside my humi, right next to the Honeywell gauge.
The Heartfelt Industries hygrometer has been reading 65% while the Honeywell has read anywhere from 75-78%. Odd? Anyone know anything about this? |

Sounds like you need to do a salt test on both.

Goodness... haven't done one of those in years. I guess I really should.
Soda capful of salty water in a baggie for 3 hours right? |

If it were me, I would buy a Bovi which has a given humidification level and do the test with that. I would never do the salt test. How do you know what you are starting with?

Doing a salt test tonight. I hope I got the ratios of salt/water right. Both hygrometers + salt/water mixture are in a tight Tupperware container. Lets see the results tomorrow...

SALT TEST RESULTS:
After ~10 hours, the honeywell unit states that it is 79% and the heartfelt hygrometer states that it is 76%. This only confuses me further because there is usually a much larger discrepancy between the two. Typically I have something along the lines of 65% on the heartfelt unit and 76% on the Honeywell. Any ideas? Anyone know how to adjust these unites? |
