I saw him play in the late 80s /early 90s and was impressed with his pefromance and connecting to the audience (I think it was the blue note tour or something like that).

I liked the record with "keep on rocking in the free world" but haven't focused on him much since then. I think my favorite N.Y. album is "Tonights the Night" - a fine sing along at the bonfire record.
