i usually just put a newspaper or such on top of the cigar caddy, just to break the harshness of the direct sunlight, but remember, there are foam inserts inside which act as an insulator. heck i have even ripped out my humi disk. i noticed too many damaged wrappers and with the rubber seal it will hold humidy fine. this has been my usual practice nigh onto 3yrs now
