planning to build a cabinet - some questions

Hello everyone - I am pretty new to posting here. I am a hobbyist woodworker (which is a lot more enjoyable than being an engineer). I am starting to plan the construction of a cabinet humidor for myself - I know the space it is going in, so I will make it as large as possible to fit while still looking good in that space.

I have also decided on mahogany plywood, with the interior lined with a combination of mahogany and spanish cedar. It will have a glass door with both slanted shelves for displaying boxes and drawers for loose cigars.

I did a search but didn't see anything on the topic I have the most questions on - drawer construction. What are the recommendations on the best way to handle this? I definitely want to provide for air circulation, and this can be done with either plywood (with slots routed in it) or with strips of solid wood with spaces left in between. If I go with the solid strips, should I put them at an angle or make them parallel to either the front or sides? Would the solid strips be best put into a dado, or screwed/nailed to the bottom of the drawer sides? It seems like it would be very difficult to get strips into a dado while keeping spacing equal between all strips, especially if they are put at an angle.

I realize I am making this more difficult than it needs to be, but I don't want to make a rookie mistake on hopefully the last humidor I will need. Thanks in advance for any help.
