Picked Up an Interesting New Pipe ...
A Dunhill Group 5 apple with saddle bit - shape 5201. I bought it from www.smokingpipes.com The interesting part is that it is designated a Shellbriar - not a "Ring Grain" - but it has a deep, defined blast. It reminds me of early (1920's - 1930's) Dunhill blasts. The other interesting thing is that it smoked great right out of the box - seems to need no breaking in period. This is rare for a Dunhill in my experience.
When I figure out how to post pictures I'll do so.
