Great guitar solos

Rockace and Roomdog already named the first ones that came to my mind, but I also like..

Pink Floyd -David Gilmour-Comfortably Numb-Live version, on the Pulse Album & his solo on "Dogs" from the Animals Album.

I'm a David Gilmour nut, myself. Comfortably Numb is my all-time favorite song. On An Island gets stuck in my head on a regular basis. Shine On You Crazy Diamond is good stuff. Echoes, High Hopes, etc... the list goes on and on. He spends so much time singing with his guitar, it's just captivating!

It was like an overloaded circuit breaker in my head just trying to access all the air-guitar solos over the years, so much info to try and sift through in a short few minutes my brain smelt like burning copper and went all mushy. It's like, "Okay, best scenes from all the movies you've seen--Go!"

But, I tried.

What rockace said. My head hurts from that. I can't access the whole database, but you know, start with carlos santana, van halen, Journey with neal schon, rush, etc.

i'm gonna have to go again with the solo in hitch a ride by boston. No, it ain't a solo, there are actually two guitars and the drummer, but damn, that song is a great guitar showcase. Right about 2:30 is when it starts and just gets great.
