A unique coffee is back in stock

For the home-roasters here, if you've never tried a "tree-dried" coffee, you might want to give the Brazil Moreninha Formosa "Raisin Coffee" from Sweet Maria's a whirl. They had this one a few months back, but they sold out quickly. At the time, they also had a second tree-dried bean in stock, but this one was easily my favorite of the two.

If you read the blurb at the link, you'll find that tree drying is only done in small lots on certain plantations, and I've never seen one that was from anywhere other than Brazil. It's always very limited in terms of production, so act quickly if you want to try it.

In the cup, the Moreninha is exceptionally deep in body, and very low in acidity. Not surprisingly, flavors run to ripe fruit, including plum and black cherry notes, all underlain by an appealing "richness" that's hard for me to describe. It is very, very smooth, almost viscous in its depth. Me likey mucho!
