Plugged Cigar Tool

Does anyone know how I can purchase one of the petroglyphdesigns cigar tools? All the post I could find on this topic the link was dead - or the tool was not listed.

http://www.petroglyphdesigns.com/

Thanks, Mark

I think they're out of business now.

Unfortunately, that's correct. They produced spectacular humidors, and their cigar pokers were works of art. There were a couple of group buys on the pokers a while back, but it looks like there won't be another.

Not surprising, as I've used my Petroglyph Designs poker with mixed results, and it's a cleverly-designed, purpose-built tool.

The fact is that truly plugged cigars are exceptionally rare, and running a poker through a cigar that has a hard draw due to other, much more common problems (overhumidification is probably most common, followed by tight rolls/knots/hard spots/various other construction problems) is not likely to help much. All of this has been discussed at length here, numerous times, so I won't go back over old ground again.

Life is too short to wrestle with a plugged cigar. Tight draws are often the result of over humidification.

Thanks for letting me know they are no longer available. Tight draws would have been a more accurate description of the problem that I need to correct from time to time.

Over -humidification is not the issue. I like a cigar to draw easy with lots of smoke. Poorly burning cigars are a better indication of over-humidification, IMHO - not to mention wrinkled wrappers, mold etc.

I have used the toothpick several times to correct a tight draw - esp on Torpedoes. If that does not work - in the trash it goes. I won't wrestle with a cigar that will not produce much smoke.

Go to the hardware store and buy an extra long (6" or so) drill bit in a 3/32" diameter.
