First Don Carlos... Wow

After much ranting on here about the Don Carlos I finally got to try one. A $12 Torpedo. When I lit it I immediately got a sweet taste... something like chocolate or creamy coffee... Maybe someone can clue me in. Anyhow, it was a great smoke and well deserving of the rage it gets. I hope my local guy has these.

If every draw of a Cameroon wrapped cigar tasted like the first one, there would be no way that any retailer could keep any in stock at all. Its a unique, delicious flavor that never lasts long enugh.

It's really hard to beat the taste of a high end Fuente. I love the taste of peanut butter and nuts in their cigars. You made me open my Fuente drawer on one of my humis and threaten to torch my last Don Carlos. But I won't. He'll rest until that perfect sunday morning when the neighborhood is quiet and I can sit on the porch reading the paper.

I don't know why, but I never found the DC line to be worth the $, IMHO. They are great smokes, but there are many others that I prefer in the same price range or below.
