I have a couple of tickets to see the Cuban jazz band, Cubanismo at BB King's in "Noo Yawk."
For those of you who've never heard this band, do yourselves a favor an pick up any of their CD's. The band leader is a trumpeter by the name of Jesus Alemany. He is absolutely fantastic. The music is a combination of salsa, jazz and has awesome "descargas" or jams. A must for any Cuban music fan. I'll let you all know how the concert is on Thursday.

I've seen them down here Cabi, and they are great! Too bad we cant get some bands from the island up here. The Cuban music scene is one of the best in the world!

The Cubans in Miami have a tendency to get out of control when they disagree with something. Thankfully, NY does not experience any type of protests when island bands come to play in the City.
The bottom line is that politics should not intervene in the arts...PERIOD.

You got that right. The cuban community in Tampa is pretty laid back also, but it has also been here for over a hundred years. Miami is a whole different ballgame.
