What is your favorite hamburger recipe?

I’m looking to make better burgers so I need your advice. My usual burger mixture is 80\20 ground beef, cooked on a grill, medium, maybe a bit on the medium rare side. I spice it with generous amounts of salt, ground black pepper, and onion powder. I think I could be doing this better. How do you guys prepare the ground beef for your best burgers? Do you add other types of ground meat like pork, or turkey? Different spice mixes?

The mix is important. I use 50-50 brisket and chuck. Salt and pepper to season. It's the fat that drives flavor. Steak and Shake uses brisket and sirloin. I ask the girls if they want to go out for burgers, the answer is always, "couldn't you just make burgers?"

Meat mixture is indeed crucial, but it's hard to find 'ground brisket'.
1 lb 80/20 ground chuck
1/2 cup grated parmesian cheese
2 TBS Worcestershire sauce
salt, black pepper, garlic powder.

crumble the ground beef into a bowl, sprinkle parm cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder over the meat, and add the Worcestershire sauce. Let stand for 10-15 minutes, then mix gently but thorughly, divide into 3 equal size balls.
Press into round patties about 4.5-5" across.
Grill or fry to medium rare. Do not 'press' on the burgers while cooking...

Just my 2 cents.
You can add chipotle chili powder to give them a kick if you like to the mix.

I've never seen ground brisket for sale. When briskets are on sale I buy 2. One for the smoker and one for the grinder. Makes a greasy meatloaf, but for burgers it's divine. Maybe find one where the flat and point are separated. Useless for bbq, but good for either corned beef or the grinder.

Lightbulb

73% for far more flavor.

When the Pandemacon began, we started buying Omaha Steaks.
Their burgers (and everything else) are pretty spendy, but great.

Tried Schweitzer & Sons Signature brisket & chuck burgers. Ralph’s had the patties on sale for $4 a pound. Added salt and pepper, cooked them to medium on the grill. They came out fantastic. Big beef flavor. Added bacon and Swiss to my burger. MAGIC.
