The wood fell off of myXikar Redwood cutter.

Has any one eles had this kind of a problem. I expected better from a $79.95 priced cigar cutter.

Not specifically the redwood cutter, but I have heard about issues with the Xi3 cutters. I used to be a huge Xikar fan, especially w/ their warranty, but lately it seems that lifetime warranty is more necessary than it used to be. I bought a Palio, and haven't looked back.

Original Xikars with Solingen German blades are being replaced with Japanese steel versions. While the term POS is probably over the top, a lot of folks are peeved that they are not getting the same quality cutter that they sent in. Seems kind of silly, since the "quality" cutter they sent in, uh, broke.

Sorry, I sent them in one that was german made, all the pieces were made and fit very well together. The cut was beautiful till it dulled after 3 years of use.

The replacement was made in Taiwan, the parts wobbled at the pivot point. It almost needed forced to get it to snap back together. Instead of making a clean cut, it just about tore the top off the cigar.

I have GIVEN the cutter away and I bought a Palio!

It doesn't. I dropped my Xi2 (more than once ) and the handle popped off. I called before I glued it and they said no problem.

I know you all have had a few bad experiences with them but I had one slid out the window of my van. I found it when I got back to town 9 hours later. It was on the ramp to the interstate. I could tell that it was ran over a few times. The case had a spot worn though it from the release button. I popped it open clipped a stick and have been using it in the van since. But now with the window up. LOL
