This evening I smoked a Chateau Fuente Madero. After removing the cedar, I noticed a weird looking area on the cigar, it had an outline like it was an extra piece of wrapper. When smoked down about 1/3, this area began to peel and soon fell right off. The area under this "patch" had several opened, ripped spots and the binder showed through - this was VERY obvious with the difference in color between the madero wrapper and lighter binder. It started unwrapping once I smoked past this area, alittle more than 1/2. Is this common practice for rollers to patch a stick that has such flaws? Or is it just common practice on sticks with cedar sleeves that would hide any patch work? I'm curious becuase I've never seen anything like this.
