Helix Maduro X550
It's a truly magnificent day here in Houston (75 degrees, clear and breezy), WAY too nice to be stuck at work. Oh well, I gotta support my ceegar habit somehow!
Took a Helix Maduro X550 out to a sunny spot during lunch and did it in. For those who like the particulars: Helix Maduro X550 Robusto (5x50) Strength: Mild-Medium Wrapper Type: Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro Binder: Mexico Filler: Dominican Republic, Brazilian Mata Fina, Honduran Talanga Construction is nice - beautiful wrapper, silky smooth and oily, very light veining. Firm, no soft spots. Clipped easily and cleanly. Pre-light flavors mild and slightly sweet, with cocoa nuances. Lit easily and quickly, burned ruler-straight throughout with no touch-up required. Draw was excellent from start to finish. Black pepper and leather flavors nicely complimented by spicy and earthy notes with a hint of black coffee. Nubbed it. Finish was light and clean. This stick is milder than I normally like (I'd classify it as being on the mild side of medium-bodied), but you know, that made it a pleasant lunch break cigar. I would rate this cigar in the 88 range, and recommend it to folks who like a lighter maduro. At the price I paid ($1.75/stick), I think it's a good value. It wasn't my first one, and it certainly won't be my last.
