LaGloria Cubana - Florida - 1997

Received this stick from a fine BOTL of this board Thanks, man.

This LGC is from Florida, 1997. It was toro in size and Maduro dark. The outward appearance is crude, with an unattractive cap that appears to have 3 layers of leaf covering the top of the cigar. It is far from a cuban tripple cap, though The wrapper was dark with veins that were not raised to the touch; but, they were almost white in appearance. First time that I've seen something that looked like that, actually.

Prelight aroma was muted tobacco. Gentle on the nose, with an almost honey-like aroma. Very nice.

As I clipped the cigar with the guilotine, the cap popped right off. Nice The pre-light draw was no where near the honey filled sweetness that the aroma hinted at. This was a strong dense tobacco flavor that almost burnt my lips. A raw pungent taste.

Initial impression after toasting the foot with the torch was straightforward tobacco flavor. Smoke volume was initially low but opened up considerably. As the smoke volume increased, some of the hints of initial sweetness and honey return. As the smoke progressed, I picked up hints of clove, and a mild spice that eventually became very strong - stinging tongue strong After I passed the halfway point of the cigar the spice mellowed substantially into a nice smooth falvorfull smoke with muted spices and nice sweet undertones

Ash was not razor sharp; but rather light and very white. Required a few corrections with the torch. Cigar smoked as if it was a bit underfilled.

Total smoking time to the band was 1 hour 5 minutes.

Summary: Wonderful smoking experince. Very tasty. If it did not turn a bit bitter towards the end, I'd have been a nubber.

Thanks to the BOTL who shared this wonderful cigar with me. Appreciated
