So, a buddy and I decided to make a trip to Mohegan Sun casino last night here in CT.. After a great dinner we start to walk through the casino and pass by the "Wolf Den", which is a pretty large lounge with a stage where there's always free concerts.
As we walk by the lights are dimmed and their getting ready to announce tonights act. So we decide to see who it is. And then we hear "Ladies and gentleman please welcome the driving force of one of the all time great rock bands, Grand Funk Railroad's Mark Farner!". Man, I thought this guy was dead! I was never a big fan at all of the band. But my buddy was in heaven. Believe it or not he had seen them over 10 times. So I agreed to hang out with him for a while. Not to bad, and Farners voice sounds just like it did 30 years ago (which may not be a good thing). The best part was watching the crowd, which was mainly in their mid 40's and older(wait I'm in that age group). I'm sure many of the women looked great 30 years ago, but mother nature has not been kind to some of them. And the guys, alot of them looked they had just come back from hitting "The Bong" and were doing some great "Chair Dancing". These guys looked like they were in a time warp, and never left the 70's. All in all a pretty enjoyable show which was helped by a Cohiba Robusto from 90. Rock on MARK!
