Rob's excellent humidor article

Just up today (February 2nd) on the Cigar Weekly Home Page is our own RobG's fine article profiling his Aristocrat cabinet humidor. Do check it out!

Cool

Have one of those; looks like a large china cabinet.

I purchased a Mini Tall about 2yrs ago. Love it!! The price was comparable to a similar humidor at the local shop but the Astrocrat is a better quality product.

Loved the article. Argree 100%

I didn't include this in the article, but I always found this true tale interesting.

When I first bought my Aristocrat I was going through a divorce and I decided to keep the humidor in my office. It's a stable environment and I thought it looked good there. Apparently, it looked too good.

One day I went to open it. It has a lock on it and I always kept it locked. But the key wasn't fitting. I couldn't figure it out. Upon closer inspection I noted that the lock was slightly misaligned. I was able to correct that, unlock the humidor and open it. It was then that I discovered that the lock had been jimmied. Inside, the Spanish cedar was scratched slightly. Overall, there was no real damage done. But I was shocked. I couldn't imagine who would have broken in.

The cigars, as far as I know, were not touched. I always assumed that someone, maybe the evening cleaning crew, thought there was something of value, such as money. Maybe they thought it was a safe? I can't imagine the look on the would-be thief's face when he opened it.

I never reported it and didn't make a big deal about it. I couldn't even be sure when it happened. It could have happened weeks before I noticed it. But I always thought it was interesting that the Aristocrat looked so inviting that someone actually jimmied the lock to try to get at its contents.
