La Luna NATURAL FUERTE

La Luna NATURAL FUERTE
Luna de Luna
7 x 50

Wrapper: Ecuador Sumatra Rosado
Binder: Cameroon
Filler: Nic, Hond, Dom. Rep, Mexico

Thanks to Spiridon's generous ways, I was fortunate to try a sampler of the La Luna Trilogy series. Jon!

The Luna de Luna is a monster of a cigar measuring 7" long with a 50 ring guage. Setting aside enough time to truly enjoy a cigar of this size is a difficult thing to do these days, but luckily I found a rare two hours of solitude the other evening. Filling a large glass with ice and enough George T. Stagg to last for a couple of hours I grabbed the daily crossword puzzle and settled down for a couple hours enjoyment on a steamy summer evening here in the NE.

The appearance and construction of this cigar was as close to perfect as you can get. (4.5)

The burn was even and stayed lit throughout the two hours it took to smoke the beauty. (5)

The draw was slightly looser then I like, but didn't detract from the enjoyment of this cigar one bit. (4)

The pre-light aroma of this cigar reminded me of our barn that was used to store tobacco bales when I was a youngster. Very intoxicating. (4.5)

The flavor of the La Luna is what really surprised me. I must admit I've been smoking mostly Cuban cigars lately and love that "twang" you get with them and have been spoiled by the wonderful flavor Cubans produce. This La Luna is the closest thing to that "twang" I've experienced in a NC cigar. Truly outstanding. (9)

There wasn't the stale after-taste that I experience from some NC cigars. This cigar for me was exceptional. (9)

Overall quality (10)

Total Score - 46/50 a superior cigar IMHO.

Summary - Buy as many as you can find. I can't seem to find any.
