Furniture Conversion Question

Here is my seutp.

We just emptied out our stereo cabinet and I hate to see it go to waste. This is a 4'h x 2'w four shelf unit with glass front door, that I hope will make a nice stereo'dor for boxes. I have talked with my local wood shop and they have the 25 sqft of spanish cedar needed to cover all interior surfaces for around $180.

Here's my question:

This cabinet is a "Souder" product and is a press board/partical board construction. If I line with cedar and put in some active humidification will press board hold up over time or will the moisture disintegrate it behind the cedar?

edited: Thanks for all of the great input. I am going to forget the stereo cabinet and possibly look at building a cabinet from scratch or continue the hunt for a nice piece of hardwood furniture. I will start some board searching on cabinet humidor building

Thanks...
