The Best Bass Player
Who's do "you" think is the Best bass player?
Fake Mike goes with: 1) Victor Wooten 2) Bootsy Collins 3) Les Claypool I really think Victor Wooten is the best dam bass player of today ...but Bootsy is a bad ass Basically everyone of James browns Bass players could be "labeled" the "best" IMHO And while I don't like Primus or their songs... I do have ears... and shit can that man play |

The only 2 bass players that matter are Les Claypool and Lemmy from Motorhead.

I don't know. There are a lot of players out there who are really proficient in the technical area, and can keep time like a metranome, but there aren't that many who can really GROOVE. That's the job of the bass player, groovin'. So, I guess those mentioned are masters of their instruments, but I'm not sure that I want Claypool laying down some sweet blues tracks just because his style doesn't go with that genre. Best bass player I've ever seen was some old man that played an SG bass. Man that guy had it going on. Never opened his eyes the whole time he played. Just layed down sweet bottom end and made the band sound great!
