On a whim, I stopped by a small resale shop not far from my office. There, in all its glory, I found an original West Bend Poppery! Lightly used, all plastic parts present and intact, in full working order. This for a whopping four bucks.
 Everything I've read says these puppies are built like tanks (weight at least double that of the Poppery II sitting next to it on the shelf) and will do a fantastic job on the green beans. Now all I have to do is drink up or give away my existing supply of roasted beans, get an order in to SM's or Mayorga, and I'll be cookin' with beans!
