I actually like the Alt to the LGC Wavell. I have some in yello sticky cello that are at least 4 yrs old. YUMMY!!! On the other hand, I haven't tried any other Alts so what do I know? Kinda makes you wonder how Lew can sell so many if they suck as bad as you say. I think there are lots of "Closet Alt Smokers" out there that are too ashamed to admit smoking em.

Most people buy em, because they THINK they're similar to the real thing. Believe me, I KNOW. Many others are low-budget smokers (nothing wrong with that) who want "the best cigar you got... for $1 to $1.50." I would never recommend an alt, but... many get em.
I just thought of somethin... the packaging says they're as close to the real thing as possible. How can they do that with the alts to Cuban cigars. Are they using Cuban tobacco now? ![]() Peace, Herfules

tmde, the cigars suck. The marketing is outstanding. And it worked on me many a time as I'd try one Alt., hate it, read the JRBB and think I just got a bad alt., and buy another. But then I realized that their are much better cigars for the price such as Connies, GCC's, etc. I have no beef with someone wanting or needing to save money, I just hope to keep them from wasting their money like I did.

Gumby,
I agree about the Connies, PEGCCs, Mantequillas, Mayorga, etc. I could list a zillion brands that I'd spend my $$$ before I'd take a chance on another Alt. Fire Up Another One! |

If you like Perdomo products, you might want to try the Alt to Cuban Cohiba. It has a Perdomo quality.
