Ole Miss…so close…and yet so far.
They had the best season they have had in 50 years.
They could have beaten LSU…and Auburn. But both those teams are very good and don't need any help. A team can't have turnovers, and beat LSU and Auburn. At least not this year. But two losses, and a very close loss to Auburn. (Treadwell's leg was broken right before he crossed the goal line for the go ahead score)….puts Ole Miss out of the playoffs. BTW, kudos to AU players, coaches and fans…for showing real class, at the game, when the injury happened. It's actually nice to see good sportsmanship and class these days. Still, Ole Miss is pretty much out of it, unless AU & LSU lose the rest of their games (highly unlikely) Why do I think the playoff system won't actually solve anything? Most likely it will be an SEC team against FSU…or ND, or a Big Ten team..again. what's different?
