Maintaining humidity at 65%
Does anyone have any tried and true formulas for the PG to H2O ratio to keep the humidity level at 65% (Starting AND maintaining...) I've got a new humidor on the way that I need to start out right and a previous one that I need to lower from 70%. It's the maintaining that seems like the tricky part to me...is it, or am I just not seeing the forest for the trees??

Don't stress over the #s so much. First of all, very rarely are hygrometers so accurate. Use it to check flucuations in humidity. When you get you humidor filled, and the cigars are to your liking, in feel and smokability, then look at the hygrometer and see where the rh is at. That is your #. If it drops or rises by 5 or more points, adjust accordingly. Check the archives, there are many posts about this subject. It is not rocket science, it is alot of learning by experience, good luck

relax. cigars aren't that fussy. really. a few extra drops of PG will help. or a small block of cedar that can act as a buffer.
