In a few weeks, I'm driving out to the East Coast with the family for a little vacation. However, after spending a weekend in Chicago, I realized this is going to pose a significant problem.

The problem is how will I get good coffee? I was forced to drink hotel coffee all weekend and don't think I could make it through the 10 days we'll be gone.

If there will be an in-room coffeemaker, you can at least take some good coffee with you...

Good coffee is only good for 3-4 days. Plus, I'll then need to take a grinder.

Joe...tell the board where you're going to be back east and maybe some people can steer you to some fine coffee houses, etc. in their areas.

As of now, I don't buy into this good coffee is only good for four days. Roast up some extra and seal it gutentheit. You can survive on five or six day-old coffee as opposed to Folgers Hotel blend cricket piss.

Just bring the damned grinder with you, or grind and seal. I don't advocate CharBucks...I only drank it while Daddy was in the hospital because there was one in the lobby brewing espresso.

Buy a bigger vehicle if you can't fit the paraphernalia in it. Maybe you could come up with a coffee-kit for travelling; lined with spanish cedar, of course.
