That they do Scotsman, but the lesser priced 'dors have just a cheapo sponge type and even if they contain anti-bacterial agent too high a humidity level will overpower them.
Best to be safe and keep it under 70% at first.

Get the Vicksburg, while you are at it, get the accessories package with the oasis or oshkosh. I got an imperfect Vick, nothing extra. I am a very happy man.

Could I use a product such as Climax beads instead of a humidifier, and then just get a hydro/temp gauge?

Climax beads work well in smaller to medium sized humidors. They are definitely a great alternative to traditional humidifier elements.
