Who's a good retailer for a quality desktop humidor?

Anyone have suggestions as to retailers that sell quality desktop humidors and if there are any to shy away from? My middle son started enjoying a cigar with me on occasion a couple years ago and that has grown into him thoroughly enjoying them more and more. In the past I just always supplied the smokes when he came over since I've got more than I will probably ever smoke on my own. Since we moved I took him a loaded 15 count cigar caddy and have refilled him a couple of times on trips back home to visit.

I'd like to pick him up a good quality(good seal and workmanship) desktop..something like a 50-75 count. Figured I get him a Heartfelt tube of beads for humidification, get it seasoned, load it up and give it to him in the near future. I was just wondering if you guys had any recommendations.

I looked but didn't see any vendor banners for vendors that carry a good assortment of humidors.

Most of the entry-level humidors you'll find online these days are made in China, James. They're cheap veneered units that will do a decent job, but that's about it. You'll need to go upscale if you want an heirloom.

Arlin Liss makes awesome desktops.

For quality, either of the two mentioned will give your son a lifetime of cigar storage and look great to boot!

Have any of you guys ever heard of downeastboxes.com?

I've been watching and scoping out the site for months. I even emailed and got a little bit of additional info, but there site is designed around the actual ordering process, and I felt like I was wasting their time. They make some beautiful boxes.

I love the Savoy humidor I bought from smoking pipes.com. It's not heirloom quality, but it is well built and attractive. I would buy another in a heartbeat if I needed to.

Give him a small cooler with some beads in it. His cigars will age much better and he won't be frustrated with trying to keep the RH level.

I guess I've got so much on my mind anymore I hadn't even thought about a small cooler. Considering every cigar I have is stored in cooler I can't believe that thought hadn't crossed my mind!

Thanks everybody fpr the suggestions!
