PI Gordo #5 A Big Jack Review
First off, this is a BIG frigging cigar!
5x66, Tapered end. The tapered end was pre-cut. Visually, this was a very nicely made cigar, only one noticeable vein in the wrapper. Pre-light draw was pretty easy, as you would expect from such a large ring guage. The taper makes it a little easier on the jaw muscles, but you still know this is a big 'gar. As with other very large ringed cigars, getting it started properly takes a little work. It ain't easy setting fire to that much tobacco. First impression, is that this is gonna be a mild cigar, and the impression held. All the way to the nub, this monster NEVER got harsh, or burned too hot. But don't let the mildness fool you. There is plenty of flavor to keep your interest. Nothing fancy, just good clean tobacco taste, that held up well, with a cup of Home Roasted Bolivian coffee. Over all, I'd give this cigar about an 83 out of 100. The size, while helped out by the taper, was just a bit too large for me. The same blend, in about a 55-58 RG, I think would be more to my preferences. If you like the Monster sizes, than I'd definitely recommend this to you.
