Its About Culture and Academics
and maybe its about the money, too...
why not just admit college athletics is professional sports and create 4 conferences... East Midwest South and West.... and get rid of the conferences as they exist. And maybe quit beefing players get NIL money.

As an old school college football fan, this hurts me to the core, even though my team and institution as well as the conference to which they belong benefit mightily.

College athletes can profit from endorsement and image. Vince Young is already a millionaire before he signed to play in the NFL
