I did it a few times , but I think it stops the aging process as there is no air Maybe some more "profesionnal advise" would be needed here

I just dont see the reason for doing it, but if it floatrs your boat and you have the time, go for it. I would think it would slow or stop aging as it is my opinion that part of aging is the effect of oxygen interacting with the chemicals in the cigars.

Just wait for Doug's (Mad Dawg) report, he has several premiums aging in vacuum bags for years now.

My understanding is that aging primarily involves two classes of reactions: oxidative and enzymatic. Vacuum sealing radically slows the oxidative processes, without halting the enzymatic processes. Vacuum sealed cigars will age, they will not oxidize.

Speculation aside, reading Benecio's account of smoking CoRos after 4 years of being sealed was all I really had to see to decide the process was worth trying. I have opened boxes that were sealed for about 18 months (to check the cigars before sealing them), and the aromas were heavenly. In another year and a half, I'll be able to report on how some of my cigars smoke after 4 years of being sealed.

I have never vacuum sealed for long-term storage however, I vacuum seal when I go on vacations. It's easier than carrying humidors, I put one cigar in each bag, I use the "non-crush" setting and I put them in a flat surface in the suitcase. Have done this regularly. I went to Aruba 2 years ago and thought I didn't pack my cigars. I was pissed Imagine my delight when my son called me from the tennis court to let me know all my cigars were nestled between the packed tennis rackets!!!
