Hello, I've recently gotten into cigars so I'm still learning. I just got a humidor for xmas, it's nothing special, probably a cheapo one even. It came with only a book that was more cigar "theory and etiquette" rather than specific instructions.

So I'm trying to set it up. I did the salt/water in a ziplock to calibrate the hygrometer. I get a reading of 60! Can it be that far off? I'm positive I did the test as per described on various cigar sites. I haven't attempted to adjust the hygrometer, not sure it will adjust that much. Should I just break down and go find a digital one instead?

Also, the humidifier is a small unit, shaped like a hockey puck. Here's a picture of it...

Again, I had no specific instructions that came with it, so I'm kind of unclear as to how exactly to charge/fill it. It just has a bunch of holes on the top, and 1 larger hole, do I just put solution through the larger hole or should this thing come apart?

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated,
Dave
