Refilling Lighters

Okay, so I killed my old lighter using Ronson and thus bought a bunch of Quintiple Refined Vector fuel and a new lighter.

I filled the lighter until I couldn't hear gas passing into the chamber anymore (took about 30 seconds or so) and stopped. But when I went out tonight the lighter lasted for about 1 cigar, then died. Completely gone! I had this problem with my other lighter too - I would hold the butane onto the lighter forever, long after I stopped hearing the hissing, but still the lighter would only last for a short time. My old lighter was a double torch, my new is a single torch.

Obviously there is a problem with my filling technique. I know I'm not losing any out of the sides - I make sure everything is straight up and down when I fill. How do you guys fill? And how long does it usually take? How long will your lighter last after that?

Thanks guys!

Rich
