They had some new stuff at the store last night, I found a hen house, and a new one.

newcastle/caledonian scotch ale. Very, very good. It's a beautiful dark beer. just a perfect balance of malt and hop, and a wonderful toasty character with a bit of charred smokiness. Nice head on it, 6.5%. Smooth, slips across the palate like velvet. Nice, slightly sweet finish.

Probably one of the milder scotch ales I can remember, some of them are too malty and almost sweet. Perfectly balanced malt and bitterness. Just a touch of flowery notes on the aroma. I'd go exclusive on this for a while, but it's about $9.
