David, you're not the only person I have spoken with who had the same JR experience. Jason talks of it here and there, as well.
I was only at the Durham JR for a weekend. Took a 30 qt cooler full of hot crawfish in checked luggage (try doing that today!). Lew was still in charge at that point and the humidor and warehouse were pretty neat. Went picking through the inventory and dug up a bunch of aged brands I liked at the time. I was with a group and Lew bought us a BBQ dinner. I think he was in Whippany.

I'm not sorry I went. All of that's different now.
