Let's look at the starting five for each school:

UCONN
Rashad Anderson: FLORIDA
Josh Boone: Maryland
Taliek Brown: New York
Ben Gordon: New York
Emeka Okafor: TEXAS

GA. TECH
Will Bynum: Illinois
B.J. Elder: GEORGIA
Luke Schenscher: Australia
Marvin Lewis: Maryland
Jarret Jack: Maryland

Tournament MVP: Okafor from TEXAS

So a team that starts TWO SOUTHERNERS wins the National Title against a team that starts THREE NORTHERNERS, an Aussie, but ONLY ONE SOUTHERNER. And.... the MVP of the whole tournament is a SOUTHERN guy.

I reckon the Northern school (UConn) knows where to go (THE SOUTH) to get the SOUTHERN players needed to win a national title.
