This is always an interesting topic. Like someone said earlier, the smaller the ring gauge, the more the wrapper is going to contribute to flavor. However, let's not forget that the wrapper is only one leaf and it is not a "magic leaf". In a larger ring gauge cigar you have more room to make the cigar more complex, adding more seco, viso, and ligero to the blend.
Although the wrapper is really important on a cigar, so is the filler. Smoke a cigar without the wrapper and it is not nearly as good, but also smoke the cigar with a non-complex filler and the cigar is one-dimensional.
