FIRE THE COACH!!!

Since my Rangers are tanking VERY quickly...it's time....

FIRE THE COACH..

It won't help a damn but at least I won't have to see an Islander behind the Rangers bench (he's probably gloating inside ) I know it's not his "fault" but it's a good excuse to get him off the bench!!!

It is his fault. I cannot understand hiring a rookie coach to handle a squad like that. Trottie might be a good guy but he cannot handle the x's and o'.

I agree

What I should have said is it's not ALL his fault....
They are out-of-position - very often running around in their own zone...and the players are starting to question his "style"(at times wide-open on a team 2nd to worst in the league in GA).

Can this really be 6 years in a row??

I agree to. But, what experienced coach in their right mind would walk into that job??? I mean with Lindros and Bure, I'm not sure if Sather is trying to build a hockey team or a pre-school!!!

The chemistry is all "balled-up". How do you put those two on the same team with Leetch and Messier???

Yikes!!!

I guess Sather was reading this yesterday

I'll be at the game tonite (AV's @8pm). Interesting to see who is behind the bench and how the crowd responds. I'll report tomorrow!!!

THe Rangers will never rise again to be a good team untill they gut the team and start with young talent, lets face it the last cup was a fluke and they destroyed there future by trading it all away.

I agree with decasere. They need to gut this team and rebuild. Buying a team doesn't work in the NHL - you have to build a solid foundation first and then buy the finishing touches. Every successful team has done it that way. The Rangers just seem to think throwing money at things will solve it. No way.

Gut the team, especially the old guys like Messier, hire a great coach (anything but Keenan - he's a pile of tripe IMHO) and use the money saved to hire some really good young talent. It may be a few years before they are really competitive, but that's the formula. Look at what Minnesota has done. I don't think they're a fluke this year. They won't go far in the playoffs, but they'll get experience and I wouldn't be surprised if in three or four years they go all the way.

I'd actually like to see Ted Nolan get another shot.

But then again, Barry Melrose is still available

The Rangers are looking good tonight. They're up 3-2 late in the third.
